The V1 contracts required Circle to attest each burn on the source chain before minting on the destination, a design that created latency and limited composability. V2, live on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and Polygon since late 2023, replaced that with a hook system allowing destination-chain logic to execute atomically with the mint. The V2 upgrade path requires Noble to deploy new hook contracts and coordinate with Circle on attestation keys. per CoinGecko, the liquidity picture: USDC supply on Sui and Noble is a fraction of the $34.8 billion total circulating, but both chains rely on the V1 route for 100% of their native USDC issuance.
