Sazmining is now selling Block's Proto mining hashboards on its mining-as-a-service platform. The hashboards are tied to Jack Dorsey's company, Block, and they use immersion cooling. Proto hashboards join Sazmining's hosted platform
Block's Proto line is the company's Bitcoin mining hardware. A hashrboard is the board inside a miner that holds the chips doing the computation. Sazmining's platform lets customers mine without operating their own machines. The company handles hosting and keeps the hardware running.
The Proto hashboards are now part of what Sazmining offers. That gives people a way to mine Bitcoin without buying, housing, or maintaining machines themselves. Sazmining operates the facility, and the customer receives the mining output.
Immersion cooling swaps fans for liquid
Immersion cooling means the mining hardware sits in liquid that pulls heat away from the chips. That replaces the fans and air cooling used in most mining setups. Liquid carries heat better than air, so the hardware can run dense workloads without overheating.
Sazmining offers these immersion-cooled hashboards through its hosted service. Customers do not manage the tanks or the liquid themselves. Sazmining runs the facility while the customer buys mining capacity.
Block's hardware reaches hosted customers
Block built Proto as its entry into Bitcoin mining hardware. Selling through Sazmining puts Proto in front of hosted mining customers rather than direct buyers. That's a different sales channel than shipping boxes to individual miners.
The deal gives Sazmining a new product and gives Block another outlet for its hardware. Sazmining has not disclosed the price or volume of the Proto deal. Watch for how many Proto hashboards Sazmining deploys and whether customers take up the hosted option.
