Four of TRON's biggest apps now work inside MetaMask, and that changes who can reach them. JustLend DAO, SUN.io, B.AI, and BitTorrent all added MetaMask connectivity this week, per a September 10 announcement from TRON DAO. If you use MetaMask, you no longer need a second wallet to touch TRON's DeFi layer.
MetaMask has tens of millions of active users, mostly on Ethereum and other EVM chains. Until now, interacting with TRON meant installing TronLink and managing a separate seed phrase, as Crypto Briefing reported. That extra step kept a lot of people out.
It's gone now.
JustLend and SUN.io carry most of the weight
JustLend DAO is TRON's main lending and borrowing platform. It holds more than $7 billion in total value locked, according to the September 10 announcement, which later referenced $7.6 billion across the JUST Network. That makes it one of the largest DeFi lending pools on any chain.
Through MetaMask, users can now access borrowing, lending, and energy rental directly from a wallet they already use. SUN.io is the decentralized exchange side. It runs SunSwap V4, an automated market maker with over $650 million in total value locked and more than 26,000 liquidity pools, per the announcement.
The new version adds programmable hooks, which let developers embed custom logic into individual pools. That sounds technical, but what it means in practice is simpler: developers can build more flexible trading features without rebuilding the whole system. B.AI and BitTorrent fill the other gaps.
B.AI is building financial tools for AI agents, giving them identities and payment infrastructure so they can transact on-chain independently. BitTorrent connects TRON to Ethereum and BNB Chain through its BitTorrent Chain, or BTTC, and handles decentralized storage through BTFS.
Together, they round out an ecosystem that now spans lending, swapping, AI tooling, and cross-chain movement, all accessible through one wallet.
The TRX supply squeeze question
While the wallet news expands who can use TRON, a separate move is trying to lock up how much TRX moves at all. Canary Capital launched the Canary Staked TRX ETF, trading under the ticker TRXS, which gives U.S. Investors exposure to TRON's spot price plus staking rewards.
The idea is straightforward. An ETF that includes staking incentivizes holders to lock their tokens rather than sell them. That matters because TRON is already quietly absorbing capital.
DeFiLlama data shows USDT supply on Tron has risen more than 2% in the past thirty days, while Ethereum's USDT balance dropped 0.5% over the same period, per AMBCrypto. More than half of all Tether, over $92 billion, now lives on the TRON blockchain versus $73 billion on Ethereum.
The network is already the largest stablecoin settlement layer. A staking ETF on top of that could tighten available supply further.
Institutional money is already inside the tent
The ETF isn't the only institutional signal. Tron Inc. (NASDAQ: TRON) was added to the Russell 2000, 2500, and 3000 indexes, and the stock gained 25% in August even as TRX itself barely moved, according to AMBCrypto.
Justin Sun has pointed out that BlackRock, Vanguard, and Goldman Sachs appear on the shareholder register. Tron Inc. Holds nearly 700 million TRX in its treasury, valued at more than $240 million.
The disconnect between price and fundamentals is the tension to watch. TRX gained just over 1% in August while Bitcoin climbed 25% and Ethereum surged 30%, as AMBCrypto noted. But on-chain activity tells a different story.
TRON is moving more dollar value in stablecoins than any other chain, and institutions are building positions through both equity and ETF vehicles.
What comes next
The MetaMask integration removes a real barrier. The staking ETF creates a new demand vector. And the on-chain data shows money is already flowing onto TRON regardless of what the TRX price chart says.
The question is whether these moves converge fast enough to move the needle. TRX's underperformance relative to Bitcoin and Ethereum over the past month suggests the market hasn't priced any of this in yet.
